Brandon Clubhouse
Architecture Firm of Record: Cooper Johnson Smith Architects, Inc.
Principal-in-Charge: Stephen Smith
Project Architect: Kevin Jarman
This clubhouse was designed for a new community of 270 residences which was planned utilizing the principals of new urbanism. The overall site was planned to strike a careful balance between the total number of residences and the site’s abundance of large and grand tree specimens and the site for this clubhouse does the same.
The clubhouse plan features a wrap around open air porch, a central meeting area, kitchen, office, and restroom facilities which serve the dual purpose of supporting the occupants of the building as well as those utilizing the adjacent clubhouse pool.
The building is surrounded by a pristine wetlands area with filled with palmettos, a formal central pond across the street, and an abundance of large oak trees which define the new urbanist development.
